North Africa ’40 – Prequel Expansion for North Africa ’41

The desert campaign saga continues! **North Africa ’40** is the official prequel expansion for North Africa ’41, covering the early operational phase of the North African theater from September 1940 through December 1941. Step into the shoes of Allied or Axis commanders during the initial Italian offensive, the Allied counter-attack, and the subsequent arrival of the Afrika Korps.

### Scenarios & Extended Campaign Modes

Choose between short scenario engagements or deep campaign play:

Operazione E Scenario (12 turns): Covers the Italian invasion of Egypt.
Operation Compass Scenario (6 turns): Focuses on the swift Allied counter-offensive.
Operazione E Full Campaign (32 turns): Extends the initial Italian offensive through December 1941.
Operation Compass Full Campaign (26 turns): Extends the Allied counter-offensive through December 1941.

### Strategic Command Dilemmas

Allied Commander Tasks: Bag the Italian 10th Army, navigate the Middle East Command operational shift to Greece in February 1941, and prepare defenses for Rommel’s German panzers.
Italian Commander Tasks: Find tactical solutions against heavy Matilda tanks, correct historical command errors, and keep the coastal road open for Rommel and the DAK blitzkrieg.

### Dedicated 1940 Campaign Rules

Includes new rules covering essential historical elements of the 1940 theater:

General O’Connor
Italian Camps
Civilian Evacuees / Stragglers
Tank Reliability
Italian Saharan Forces
Libyan Tank Command
Sollum Port
Post-Operation Compass Refit
