The ASL Companion #3
Sometimes victory hinges on a single dice roll—or a perfect understanding of the odds. The ASL Companion #3 is the direct sequel to the previous issue, serving as a premium tactical analysis tool for all Advanced Squad Leader enthusiasts. Compiling chapters 4, 5, 6, and 7 of this expert series, this volume offers a methodical breakdown of the rules to help you optimize every single move on the map.
Mechanics and Tactical Analysis
This theoretical and practical guide dissects the core pillars of the ASL gaming system through four major themes:
- The Play of the Game (Part II): An in-depth study of reinforcements entry, the sequence of play, victory conditions, and specific scenario rules.
- The Role of Fate: A comprehensive look at luck and the math behind basic probability. Master the impact of single and two-dice rolls, random selection, random location, extreme results, as well as the use of cards and counter picks.
- Concentration of Force: Everything you need to know about precise stacking limits management and the tactical dangers of overstacking.
- Men on March: An exhaustive guide to movement. Learn who may move, how to handle temporarily immobilized units, movement procedures, movement factors, plus crucial leader movement bonuses, road bonuses, double-time movement, and handling equipment.
