OST Volume 5: Battle for France 1940

May 1940: the German blitzkrieg shatters the illusions of the Allied armies. OST Volume 5: Battle for France 1940 drops you directly onto the front lines, where every single hex is a critical decision, and every decision can mean life or death for your troops. This is war the 'Old School' way—featuring fast turns, tight maps, and brutal outcomes.

Tactical Armor and Infantry Confrontation

The French side commands the Regular army alongside Colonial troops, controlling some of the best early-war armor available, including the heavy Char B1bis and the Somua S35. Opposing them, the German forces field highly mobile motorcycle troops, armored cars, and an allotment of early panzer models (Panzer II, III, and IVC), relying heavily on speed and rapid positioning.

Massive Components Across 14 Historical Scenarios

Deploy your forces on a massive 30" x 41" mounted game map featuring 1-inch hexes. The full-color Playbook includes 14 tactical scenarios, such as Bonne Chance (retreating French skirmishers fighting off German armor from the 2nd Panzer), Unstoppable (Char B1 bis tanks battling a variety of German panzers), and A Question of Honor (German motorcycle troops vs. a shaken French ambush force).

Key Features

Boots-on-the-Ground Chaos: Focuses strictly on small unit combat actions and immediate tactical decisions rather than sweeping maneuvers.
Old School Design Philosophy: Fast-paced turn structures and tight combat arenas producing brutal and decisive outcomes.
Over-Sized Scale: Includes an exceptionally large 30" x 41" mounted map and 3 detailed counter sheets depicting 1940 forces.
Dynamic Card Elements: Features 27 luck cards (such as "One More Time", "Duck", and "Vive la France") alongside 36 unit data cards to simulate the unpredictability of war.

Box Content

3 sheets of unit, weapon, vehicle, and condition counters (Panzer II, III, IVC, French Char B1 bis, Hotchkiss H39, infantry, colonial troops, and more)
