Coast Watchers – WWII Intelligence & Operations Wargame

Experience the shadows of the South Pacific conflict in **Coast Watchers**! This asymmetric strategy game captures the cat-and-mouse struggle between Allied intelligence units and Japanese hunting patrols from the initial 1942 invasion through the total neutralization of the Rabaul base in late 1943.

### Fog of War & Recessed Board Mechanics

Designed around hidden information and tactical observation, the game board features specialized mechanics:

Standup Blocks & Recessed Slots: Board recesses keep standup blocks snug, hiding coastwatching stations, guerrillas, refugees, and stranded Allied aircrews from enemy view.
Facedown Counter Buildup: Facedown markers obscure Japanese military movements, which Allied coastwatchers must spot and report. Additional counters drawn from a cup resolve Japanese search patrols and Allied supply missions.

### Secret Missions & Tactical Assets

Both factions navigate distinct strategic victory paths:

Mission Decks: Allied missions assign side objectives to watchers, while Japanese missions lay out secret air and naval operations to gain victory points before the enemy intelligence network warns command.
Asset Cards: Grant special actions and bonus victory points to augment your tactical options.

### Key Features

15 Standalone Situations: Play individual historic scenarios covering the early 1942 to late 1943 Pacific timeline.
4 Campaign Modes: Connect individual scenarios together into full-scale operational campaigns.
Snug Component Design: Recessed board prevents block movement during play.
