Operation Source – The X-Craft Attack on the Tirpitz, Sept. 1943

“It seems very discreditable that the Italians should show themselves so much better at attacking ships in harbor than we do.” Following Churchill's famous challenge, Operation Source puts you in command of British X-class mini-subs. Your objective: infiltrate Kåfjord, Norway, and cripple the German fleet in their own lair.

A Solitaire Tactical Challenge

Take on the role of the mini-submarine commanders during the historic raid of September 23, 1943. Experience an easy-to-learn game that remains deeply true to history:

High-Value Targets: Navigate your craft to strike the battleship Tirpitz, the battle-cruiser Scharnhorst, or the heavy cruiser Lützow.
Overcome the Defenses: Battle German coastal security, minefields, and low visibility to place your charges before the enemy detects your presence.
Survive the Raid: Every decision counts. Will you achieve a historic victory or be forced to scuttle your craft? Can you do better than the real-life heroes of the Royal Navy?

Components

One 11 x 17 inch Map.
One Sheet of 28 double-sided, mounted but uncut counters (require cutting).
One Rulebook.

Note: To play, a standard deck of playing cards, one 6-sided die (1D6), and one 10-sided die (1D10) are required.
