Empire of Grass: The Conquests of Gengis Khan

The 12th century is coming to an end, and the steppes are on fire. In Empire of Grass, you don't just lead an army; you forge a legend. As Genghis Khan, your mission is to unify the nomadic tribes and sweep across Eurasia. This solitaire wargame uses an innovative card system to simulate the lightning-fast expansion of the Golden Horde against sedentary kingdoms.

Mechanics and Immersion

The core of the game relies on a dynamic map made of region cards. Each territorial advance forces crucial choices: recruit local allies, establish a garrison to stabilize the empire, or raze the city to fund your campaign. But beware, betrayal lurks: your allies can rebel, and neighboring kingdoms will launch devastating counter-offensives to break your momentum.

Highlights and Features

  • Smooth Solitaire System: A game AI that reacts to your conquests.
  • Total Modularity: An optional mode allows you to randomize regions for infinite replayability.
  • Strategic Balance: Manage steppe logistics and the loyalty of your generals.

Box Contents

  • 1 Deck of Region cards (12th Century Eurasia).
  • 1 Set of Event and Tactics cards.
  • Control tokens for cities and Mongol armies.
  • 1 Detailed rulebook.
  • Player aid for managing enemy AI.
