CENTCOM is an operational-level simulation of military operations in the Middle East during the pivotal years of 2001 to 2003. Designed by the renowned Joseph Miranda, the game tasks the player with managing US, NATO, and Northern Alliance forces against an automated OPFOR representing Al Qaeda, the Taliban, and Iraqi forces.

Operational Depth and Campaign Management

  • Dynamic Scenarios: The standard game tracks the conflict from the initial 2001 invasion of Afghanistan through the fall of Baghdad in 2003, with an optional campaign extending into the 2005 insurgency phase.
  • Expeditionary Warfare Points (EP): Balance your budget between mobilization and active operations. Your success depends on the efficient expenditure of limited EP resources.
  • Persian Gulf Instability Index (PGII): The automated enemy is driven by the PGII, a shifting metric that triggers political events and dictates the aggression level of opposing forces.
  • Grand Scale: Units range from brigade groups to full corps. With a map scale of 43 miles per hex, you must manage a vast theater of operations where logistics are just as vital as firepower.
