Serious Historical Games: The Art of War and Historical Simulation
Founded in 2022 by Philippe Hardy, an experienced designer since 2012 (with acclaimed designs for VaeVictis, Hexasim, and Ludifolie), Serious Historical Games is driven by a lifelong passion for military history and deep strategic simulation.
A Unique and Focused Editorial Line
Serious Historical Games stands out with a highly specialized focus within the historical board games community. The vast majority of its titles explore conflicts of the Renaissance (1453-1618) as well as major civil wars, including the French Wars of Religion and Japan's Sengoku Jidai.
The publisher has a particular fondness for "transformation" periods—those pivotal moments in history where the emergence of new technologies completely disrupted the traditional art of warfare (as highlighted in the famous "Gold & Steel" series).
Crafted by a Talented Team of Experts
To bring these historical simulations to life, Philippe Hardy collaborates with a dedicated team of renowned professionals:
Pascal Da Silva: Counter graphics and rules layout.
Giuseppe Rava: Stunning box cover artwork.
Julien Peltier: Detailed historical mapping.
Sébastien Brunel: Immersive game board maps.
Premium European Manufacturing
Committed to delivering high-quality components, all titles from the publisher are produced entirely in Europe. Whether you are looking to refight the fall of the Inca Empire in Pizarro 1532-1537, experience the clash of samurai in Sekigahara 1600, or dive into the conflicts of the Sun King, every game guarantees an unparalleled experience.
