In Freedom!, one player takes the role of the Ottoman besiegers, determined to crush the rebellion and capture the city. The other controls the Greek freedom fighters, holding out in the face of overwhelming force. It’s a game of endurance, strategic positioning, and political pressure, where both sides have different goals but an equal chance at victory.

The besiegers win by either breaking into the city before the end of the game or by reducing the defenders’ morale to zero. The defenders win by holding the city long enough for the Ottomans to give up—either voluntarily or by losing all their morale. The tension escalates turn by turn, as each side struggles to adapt to shifting priorities and risks.

Gameplay is card-driven, with players using cards that represent real historical events and figures. Actions and decisions are shaped by these cards, while dice-based combat ensures fast and exciting battles.

The game plays out across two separate maps: one focuses on the city and the siege itself, while the other shows the surrounding regions that provide political, material, and strategic support to each faction. This dual-scale system adds layers of depth and forces players to think beyond the walls of the city.

With a playtime of around two hours and high replayability, Freedom! delivers a powerful historical narrative wrapped in tense and elegant mechanics. Perfect for players looking for an asymmetric, fast-playing wargame with meaningful choices and historical flavor.
