Crusader Rex – The Struggle for the Holy Land

Crusader Rex is a premier wargame covering the 3rd Crusade. Designed by Jerry Taylor and Tom Dalgliesh (the team behind Hammer of the Scots), the game features the renowned wooden block system. This mechanic provides a natural "fog of war," as players cannot see the strength or identity of enemy units until they are revealed in combat.

An Epic Historical Duel

The objective is simple yet challenging: control vital Victory Cities such as Jerusalem, Acre, Damascus, and Antioch. The board depicts the Middle East with stunning detail, stretching from Antioch in the north to the gates of Egypt in the south.

Block Combat System: Units are represented by wooden blocks that rotate to track strength. This creates a high level of uncertainty and tension—bluff your opponent and strike where they least expect it.
Card-Driven Strategy: 27 high-quality cards drive the action, allowing for army activations or powerful historical events that can change the course of the crusade.
Refined Gameplay: Version 2.0 rules offer a smooth, accessible experience that prioritizes strategic decision-making over complex rule-lawyering.
