Great War at Sea: Jutland’s Second Edition is focused on this battle. The 22 scenarios take you through the plans of both sides, each stage of the battle, and its aftermath. The scenarios are interwoven with historical text that let you play through the battle or pick up the action at any of its key points to see how you would have done better. This is a unique blend of history and game-play; there is nothing else out there quite like it.

The game is divided into seven chapters, with each part of the story followed by scenarios based on the action. Operational scenarios take place on the map of the North Sea, where fleets move and try to find one another. When they make contact, the action moves to the Naval Tactical Map. That’s also where the battle scenarios take place, which just show the fleets fighting one another.

Jutland includes a large operational map showing the North and Baltic Seas, and 910 pieces (490 of those are double-sized ship pieces). You get not only the ships that fought at Jutland, but the full order of battle for the British Grand Fleet and German High Seas Fleet during the First World War, plus Russian, Swedish, Dutch, American and a few other nationalities too, that you’ll use in the scenario/analysis books like North Sea 1914 and Dogger Bank 1915.

Jutland’s Second Edition is powered by the new Great War at Sea Second Edition rules set, a distillation of more than two decades’ experience with this popular and best-selling wargame series. It’s easier to play than ever, still based on simple concepts brought together to form a deceptively sophisticated game engine.

Everything you need to play, except dice, is right there in the package. This game is packaged in Playbook format; it does not include a box.
